Haptic systems stimulate (or simulate) the sense of touch. It is the type of technology that will enable holodeck like experiences (coupled with 3D generated images). Don't think this sort of thing isn't going to happen. Haptics are a big part of the future of how we use computers and the entertainment of the future.
